This is a journal page from a D&D adventure played at Google London. It was written very late but someone might enjoy it.

"Ah, you are awake" said the red haired wood elf as the woman opened her eyes. Trying to speak, the woman realizes that she is gagged and tied to a tree.

That's right... She been knocked out.

The evening before...

After fighting off the werewolves, the group recovered the tracks of the wagon and have made their way north.

On the way they encountered the cart of a traveling merchant with two guards, going to see the chestnut festival. Garrett asked the merchant halfling if he had seen people with a similar pin to that of the cultists. The merchant who asked for money in return for the information had noticed Garrett, not happy to pay, trying to conjure an illusion of coins. Deciding the information is worth some coin, Garrett reached to offer 5 gold pieces.

Jenny who snuck into the merchant's cart decided otherwise and threatened the halfling with a dagger to the throat. The two guards guarding the cart were surprised to the appearance of the elf and unsure where to aim their crossbow, the elf holding the halfling or the group.

Kredaar was not too happy about Jenny's rude behaviour and decided to attempt a spell of suggestion on her to put the dagger down. Jenny, resilient to charm due to her elven blood, had noticed the spell being cast and ignored its effect. Deciding their methods don't go well together, Jenny let the merchant off and disappeared. The guards sweeping through the cart announced they can't find her and the traveling merchant hurried away.

Shortly since then and after a discussion deciding Jenny should leave the diplomacy to the group, they have encountered a drunken fellow riding over to the south. Garrett noticing the man is drunk advised to ignore him and continue onwards.

"Greetings sir," approached Jenny "must have been quite a party!.

After a short discussion and a show of the cultists' pin, the man remembered he indeed saw a group of fellows with similar symbols. And how could he forget, as these were the kind people who kept the drinks going at the inn last night!

We found them! Galloping the rest of the way up to the inn, the group hurried their pace to catch up with the cultists.

Upon arrival the group decided to take care and use disguise kits to avoid being recognized. The two bards, Jenny and Kredaar entered the inn and Kredaar started singing and playing his instrument. The folk enjoyed the surprisingly good music and gathered around the new bard, except for one fellow who came angrily to declare it is his job to play in that inn. Apologizing to the man, Kredaar stopped playing and allowed the man to his job. Jenny however saw it as an opportunity and started singing, while accompanying her performance by playing her lute, a ballad on a grumpy local bard and a traveling jolly performer who did not get along.

The local bard, hearing Jenny's song, increased the volume of his tune at the cost of his song. His song which somewhat improved thanks to the help of Kredaar's barding inspiration, proved far too low a performance and the bard angrily left the inn to the cheers of the crowd praising the new bard who stole his job.

In the meantime Garrett went outside and made friends with a stable boy via a gold coin. The boy told Garrett he saw a group of people matching the description just the night before and that they were headed south. Sharing the information with the group they decided to leave early in the morning and so after Kredaar learnt all he can about chestnuts and Jenny entertained the crowd some more, they went to sleep.

In the morning the group met... "wait.. who is this human?" said Jenny as she noticed a newcomer. [Stas], a half-elf warlock had met Garrett over night and joined the group.

Scouting ahead Jenny found a group of people with their wagon broken aside the road. Promising her friends will come by and try to help them, she waited with the group and looked for hints if they may be who they are after.

The group arrived and Garrett felt something may be wrong and decided to disguise himself. "I will go to town and get some help!" suggested Jenny after the mighty half-dragon Kredaar failed to lift the cart. "Good idea!" said the cart's leader, a woman of somewhat mean stature.

"Breakfast, anyone?" suggested Garrett and cooked a meal. "Oh yes please!" said the group. After a sort while, Garrett made a stew with bacon and the group sat to eat. "I'm not feeling so well" said the group's leader and ran off to a bush. "Me too..." said one of the guards and ran to another direction.

The now, again.

"Tell me... where might your friends be?" said the wood elf, pointing at the cultist's pin. *She knows* figured the cultist... Her stomach still unwell, her hands tied, she was not in a position to do anything. Terrified as the wood elf dipped her dagger in a vial of poison, she let it all out. "North! To Baldur's gate..." she described their contact in Baldur's Gate as a man named Selebon, a guard on the city watch, he mans one of the watch towers, specifically the third southwest gate into the lower city. They would make themselves known to him and then they'd learn their next move.

"Anything else you can share to save your life?" asked the wood elf. It's the end she realized and said "I understand my life is forfeit". The wood elf smiled and asked "How many have you killed for Tiamat?" - "Oh many, but not enough" - "And have they died slowly or swiftly?" - "Only the deserving get a swift death." That was the last thing she said before a vial of poison went down her throat and her mouth was gagged again. As if she had a chance to survive, or maybe to make her death more painful, the wood elf cut through her stomach with a poisoned dagger leaving her to bleed to her death, or die from poison first...

Meanwhile by the derailed cart.

Tension increased as more people been getting sick and eyes peered at Garrett. "I'm not feeling so well..." said Kredaar moment before he ran off towards a bush near where one of the sick guards ran off to. "It's not just us..." thought the remaining guards.

A scream! The voice of the cart's leader came from the direction that she ran off to. The three remaining guards and Garrett ran in that direction. [Stas] decided to investigate the cart.

"Are you ok?" Kredaar asked the guard. Looking at Kredaar, the guard did not reply as a dagger went through his throat. Jenny casually greeted Kredaar before pulling her bow and disappearing toward's the rest of the group.

"Oh well, it wasn't that bad of a stew" might have said Kredaar...

"Where is she?!" Garrett and the remaining three guards looked about... An arrow. One of the guards fell to the ground.

"Oh no!" shouted Garrett as he cast a spell of thunder. The two guards knocked 3 meters back [metric, ah-hem!]. Not a most appropriate plan, as if his body was possessed by a spirit of a much more aggressive entity [Mat replaced Damien as he had to go]. "Aaaaargh!" the guards attacked Garrett, striking 6 damage each with their weapons. Kredaar running into the action pierced one of the guards with his rapier and an arrow came through the throat of the final guard.

"I found something!" called out [Stas] investigating the cart. Or maybe not. We shall see next week!
